Our First Event

Hampshire Pop Up Studios first event took place back in March this year and was a great success. I must admit as the day approached I was filled with a slight trepidation as I’m sure all event organisers are.

The opportunity to hold a good quality but accessible art and craft event came upon me late the previous year. I’d always wanted to organise this type of thing but the timing was never right. Finding a great location to host the Pop Up Studios pushed that timing right to the forefront and it was full steam ahead.

After the success of the very first Hampshire Pop Up Studios, it is now my intention to build it into a regular “go to” local event, which will take place at a few key venues across Hampshire.

I was very lucky at my first Pop Up Studios to have four talented makers join me. From across different disciplines, we had amazingly detailed Japanese Pen and Ink art from Vicki Hunt stunning ceramics from Steve Neville beautiful silver and sea glass jewellery from Kirsty Richardson of The Silver Hut and wonderfully tactile maltese limestone sculptures from Moira Ross Artist. Both exhibitors and visitors alike also loved our setting, which was much more of a retail/gallery style space than a fair or market. Our minimal white back drop, mixed with a beautiful old building with lots of character, really complimented their wonderful products perfectly. They have all agreed to return to future events so if you missed them the first time, they will be back! Keep an eye on our Our Events page for more details.

Our next event will be held on the 15th and 16th June – a two day event this time with more exhibitors and more beautiful things to see and buy.
